14 Jun Early bird
For a million stupid reasons I have not had a swim in the sea earlier this year. This morning I decided the day had come so I went with the car the 10 minutes down to Sitges and parked (for free in the morning before 09:00) by the seafront. Seeing the crystal clear water spreading out in front of me like a silver mirror and reflecting the first orange sunbeams made me remember why I actually love early mornings. The beach was empty except for a couple who had already gone into the water and a small group of elderly ladies on their morning walk through the shallow waters. My phone let me know it was 07:00 and I had 1 hour to spend. The Passeo Maritim in Sitges is perfect for running, so I started with a 30 min run with a sea view. Then you dive into the fresh water and go for a swim! In my opinion, having this possibility in your daily life is life quality of high standards! I just love it. And, dear readers, you can do this routine at least 5 months a year without even needing a wetsuit. The little beach bars, or Chiringuitos, open early so you can have your morning coffee while you dry up in the sun. How many shades of blue do you see?
